When to proceed with repotting? It is advisable to repot when the plants are too large for the current containers or when the substrate begins to degrade. Choose a pot 2/4 cm in diameter larger than the previous one.
The optimal period for repotting coincides with the vegetative awakening, when the new shoots are 2cm long and the tips of the new roots are still green.
How to proceed with repotting? The kit already contains all the tools needed to proceed with repotting. A pair of sterilized scissors, a brush or brush with soft bristles and a bowl may also be useful.
Remove the plant from the pot, clean the roots from the old substrate, removing the dead parts, shortening those that are too long by a few cm, remove the dry sheaths and the withered parts, cutting off the older end.
Add a layer of orchid soil to the bottom of the new pot, insert the plant and fill the pot with soil so that the functional point between the root and the aerial part is 1-2cm below the edge of the pot.
Place the plant away from direct light and water a little until it resumes normal growth. Then bring to the light, water and fertilize taking into account the needs of the species and respecting the doses and times indicated on the product used.
