METHOD OF USE
It is advisable to repot only when the plants are too large or when the soil begins to degrade. As a general rule, conifers should be repotted every two-three years while deciduous trees should be repotted every year or two.
TIPS FOR CORRECT REPOTTING
- Choose a vase 3-5 cm larger in diameter than the previous one;
- remove the plant from the pot, clean the roots from the old substrate, removing the dead parts, shorten those that are too long by a few cm;
- place 5 cm of expanded clay and a layer of bonsai soil at the base of the new pot, insert the plant and fill the pot with soil so that the collar (i.e. the junction point between the root and the aerial part) is 1-2 cm below the edge of the vase;
- place the plant away from light and water lightly (one or two sprays a day) until it starts growing normally again. Then, bring it back to light, water and fertilize taking into account the needs of the species and respecting the doses and times indicated on the package.
